I have been working with children since I was about fourteen years old . I volunteered at the local elementary schools and the YMCA helping the students with their homework or just simply being a mentor for them. In January 1998 to now I began babysitting my family members children . I babysat five children ranging from the age of newborn to ten years old . I monitored their safety , and academic progression . I also prepared meals suitable to individual dietary needs ensuring excellent nutrition and parental satisfaction. I took the children outside to partake in cardio activities such as kick ball , soccer , running , and to enjoy the nice weather . To encourage learning I used my scientific skills to come up with creative learning science games and the children really enjoyed it Their parents were really impressed with my work with their kids and the kids were always excited to come over . Now that I am in College I still babysit the children most of them are in activities such as football , baseball , and cheerleading so I help take them to practice and attend as much games as possible . Working with children has really help me to learn how to manage my time , become more creative and patient . As a nursing student I have learned more things about children’s way of learning and nutritional needs I can use my skills that I learn to improve children overall health and learning abilities. I can be very helpful as camp counselor because I can offer many different ideas and display good leader ship skills.

Hobbies
I am in various organzations at my university such as Best Buddies , Sister Circle which is agroup that empowers young women , Homecoming committee , Best Buddies . Over the summer I Babysit and mentor children . Some of my hobbies are reading , writing , and swimming.
